Among Us

Those no longer among us
Stand e’er beside us.
Those gone whom we love
Smile upon us from above.
Though farther away then we can stand
Are as close to us as if holding our hand.

Nothing can be said to ease the pain
Of a loved one passing which heart strings strain.
Yet a friends warm smile and heartfelt hug
Can distract the mind and heart strings tug.
Though close to us as if holding our hand
Are farther away then we can stand.

A loved one’s passing is a painful thing. No matter the age.
